National Geographic Channel to produce comedy set in ancient Egypt

I...what?

Anyway, Tony Robinson (Baldric from Blackadder) is involved but mostly, I'm just really confused.

the hubs really wonders what kind of audience draw they are hoping for. I mean just how many people who watch National Geographic Channel know Sanskrit? (or whatever the hell language ancient egypt would have conversed in. or did they just talk with their minds?)

We aren't even sure how ancient Egyptian was pronounced - scholars mostly just guess based on later phases of the language.

I'm just frightened by the edutainment. Although, if they got Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, and Rowan Atkinson involved, they could talk about how the ancient Egyptians really were Martians for all I'd care.
